The term "sustainability", which is often used today, has its origins in the forestry sector, where it has been used for more than 300 years.

The forestry principle of sustainability, according to which no more wood may be harvested than re-grows, is 100% applicable to the raw material used at HMS-HOLZ. Without exception, this comes from German forests that have been sustainably managed by law for centuries. Additionally, HMS-HOLZ is PEFC certified (www.pefc.org), which also guarantees that all HMS-HOLZ products come from sustainably managed forests.
